Before you get hired, you’ll need to pass a background check. Roehl Transport does provide background checks. It says so right on their application.
While the application doesn’t ask about general criminal history, it does ask if you’ve been convicted of DWI, OWI or DUI crimes.
Here’s what you need to know about background checks:
If you’re in the following states, you’re in luck! They don’t look into your criminal history if it is seven years old or older:
- California
- Colorado*
- Kansas*
- Maryland*
- Massachusetts
- Montana
- Nevada
- New Hampshire*
- New York*
- Texas*
- Washington*
(* sometimes certain pay or salary bracket positions require one.)
Even better, if you’re in the states below, a background check will not show felonies or misdemeanors in which you were declared not guilty:
- Alaska
- California
- Hawaii
- Indiana (limited check)
- Kentucky
- Massachusetts
- Michigan
- New York
The states on this list have the most complete form of background checks. They include all crimes you’ve been charged with, including ones in which you were found not guilty:
- Alabama
- Arizona
- Arkansas
- Connecticut
- DC
- Delaware
- Florida
- Idaho
- Indiana (extensive check)
- Iowa
- Louisiana
- Maine
- Mississippi
- Missouri
- Nebraska
- New Jersey
- North Carolina
- North Dakota
- Ohio
- Oregon
- Rhode Island
- South Carolina
- Tennessee
- Utah
- Vermont
- Virginia
- West Virginia

Company ratings
Roehl Transport got 3.5 out of 5 stars on glassdoor.com, which is an average rating.
Employees praised the flexible schedule. Since truckers have to work many days away from home, they get a lot of days to spend at home as well! However, some employees complained it’s possible to get overworked, possibly compromising worker safety as a result.
Despite that, a whopping 71% of employees would recommend the job to a friend.
What felonies Roehl Transport will not hire
What felony convictions might have a hard time getting hired here?
DWI, OWI or DUI felonies can automatically disqualify you from getting hired due to the driving nature of the job. This could also pose a problem for warehouse jobs because they may want forklift certification for warehouse positions.
Felony convictions involving the distribution of a controlled substance may also post problems. Roehl may fear that the trucking routes could be abused to smuggle products.
Lastly, severe violent convictions could get you disqualified. Roehl Transport will want to make sure their partners in the supply chain are safe.
Does Roehl Transport hire sex offenders?
There’s no information out there about this! We asked the company and didn’t get a response, and the internet didn’t have a reliable response.
Does Roehl Transport drug test?
Roehl Transport does conduct pre-employment drug testing. Passing this drug screen is a prerequisite to their paid CDL training program as well as their driving and warehouse jobs. They will do both urine and hair follicle testing.
This means you have to be sober for a minimum of six months before you even apply — their application says as much.
