Does LKQ do background checks?
Yes. You must agree to a background check when completing their application. It looks like they are mostly looking for driving convictions, though.
Here’s what you need to know about background checks:
Did you know that some states don’t look at anything older than seven years? So, if your conviction is at least seven years old and you live in one of these states, you’re in luck:
- New Hampshire*
- New York*
(* sometimes certain pay or salary bracket positions require one.)
And these eight states don’t consider any not guilty verdicts:
- Indiana (limited check)
- New York
However, be aware that there are still states that’ll see your entire record. This includes any not guilty cases. Keep this in mind if you’re in one of these states:
- Indiana (extensive check)
- New Jersey
- North Carolina
- North Dakota
- Rhode Island
- South Carolina
- West Virginia
Glassdoor.com gives LKQ 3.3 out of 5 stars. Of the 556 reviews, 59% would recommend their job to a friend and 69% approve of the CEO. A friendly work environment, good benefits and vacation packages make the job desirable. The biggest drawback wass low pay.
What felony convictions might have a hard time getting hired here?
Does LKQ hire felons? We aren’t sure. However, there are some felonies that’ll hurt your chances even more.
Violent crimes might rule you out because you’ll be working closely with co-workers. Theft could LAO pose a problem since you’ll be working directly with automotive parts. The big one is going to be driving convictions, including DUIs, for driving positions.
Does LKQ drug test?
Yes. You must agree to a drug test on the application, so be prepared.
