What are some entry-level jobs?
The best approach for getting a job at GE with a felony will probably be with an entry-level position. These often have a variety of shifts and types of work available, but don’t need a lot of education or experience to do.
For example, you may want to apply for:
- General Assembler — This position amounts to being able to perform production assemblies and maintaining records. It requires excellent organizational skills, keeping a neat work area, and being able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- General Maintenance — For this job, computer and communication skills will be needed. A forklift license, mechanical ability and being able to lift up to 30 lbs is required.
GE has a limited selection of entry-level jobs. A great number of their jobs require experience in technology or education in this particular field. So, if you have these skills, be sure to check out their job postings.

Resume

It’s important that your resume is ready before you apply. The very first step in their application requires you to upload your resume.
Application
When filling out the application, make sure you fill in every blank. If something doesn’t apply, simply put N/A (not applicable) in the space. This helps to make sure you didn’t miss anything. It also assures them that you took your time filling out the application.
GE is pretty clear with listing the requirements for each job, so make sure you’re applying for a job you have the skills for.
Interview
Remember you only get one chance to make a first impression. Take the time to put together a great outfit. Nothing flashy. Check to be sure you are neat and presentable.
Arrive at least 10 minutes early with a smile. Most companies are big on timeliness, and a smile goes a long way.
It is always best to bring several copies of your resume with you. Sometimes when interviewing, you will be asked for a copy.
Do not have gum or candy in your mouth. You will need to be able to speak clearly.
Look the interviewer in the eye. Take time to have a few questions of your own regarding the position and the company. GE actually recommends you ask questions; so make sure you have a few. This shows them your interest.
Take time to thank them for taking the time to meet with you and include a nice firm handshake at the beginning and end of the interview.
