4. If you are asked about your criminal history, be honest! Chances are if they’re asking, they are going to conduct a background check anyway.

Interview — Interviews can be a bit scary, but if you keep in mind a few things you will be okay.

1. Remember to smile. A smile makes you memorable in a positive way.

3. Be honest about your background. This is your chance to explain the circumstances of your record, so take advantage of it! Tell them how you’ve learned and grown from the situation as well. Helping them see the positive side goes a long way.

There are tons of felony convictions that will make Freedom Oil&Gas pass on your resume. They just haven’t shared them with us, except to say they don’t hire people with felony records.

What felony convictions might have a hard time getting hired here?

Pretty much all of them. But if you’ve only got a misdemeanor record, do you still have a chance? We were given a little insight on this from their executive assistant, though. Here is what we were told:

“Our industry is highly susceptible to theft and fraud so we have to do all we can to guard against that.”

Knowing this, if your background consists of a theft charge or anything with fraud, your chances of being hired here will probably not be very good.

We would think that they may also frown upon any drug or alcohol conviction since safety is important in this industry.

Does Freedom Oil and Gas hire sex offenders?

We think it unlikely, given their hiring policies, that they hire people with sex offenses on their records.

Does Freedom Oil and Gas drug test?

We weren’t able to find anything that directly touched on this subject. However, we did notice that Freedom Oil & Gas has a strict safety policy. They strive to prevent accidents and injuries. This being said, you should expect a drug screen when applying and more than likely random ones as well.
