But does DuPont hire felons? We dug around to see what we can find.

Unfortunately, there was nothing found that provided us with a simple yes or no to this question.

Does DuPont hire people with misdemeanors?

We’re not sure. We couldn’t find any evidence, either way. Our recommendation is to give the hiring process your very best effort, anyway.

Is DuPont on the Ban the Box list?

Wouldn’t it be great if there wasn’t an area on job applications asking about your criminal history? Well, that’s the sole purpose of the Ban the Box campaign. It was designed with former felons in mind, urging employers to remove these questions.

The Fair Chance Business Pledge is made by companies devoted to practicing fair hiring policies for everyone — former felon or not. The goal of the Pledge is to provide a fair chance at employment that’s based on skills, not on criminal records.

DuPont does not support either of these programs.

Does DuPont have programs for hiring felons?

DuPont is not a company that offers these programs.

But, don’t despair. We want you to know there are several programs and agencies that will help former felons.

Check this one out:

Vocational Rehabilitation — Offers assistance with clothing, work clothing, school, and start-up money for a business.

Remember, a company doesn’t have to offer these programs to hire felons; it’s just a perk!

What are the odds someone with a felony will get hired?

Honestly, the odds of a former felon getting hired at DuPont are uncertain. There wasn’t anything specific we found that would prevent a former felon from getting hired, really. It just might be possible for a qualified former felon to get hired, depending on the job, their experience and an attention-getting resume.

What are some entry-level jobs?

DuPont has many job possibilities, but very few are entry-level. This means experience will be on your side.

Here are a couple of jobs with minimum requirements and experience:

• Administrative Assistant — This job requires basic office skills and a high school diploma or a GED. Three years of experience is preferred, but not required.
• Warehouse Inventory Coordinator — Must be able to perform daily inventory reports and provide great telephone and communication skills. A two-year technical degree is a bonus.

Tips to get hired here with a felony

We are still determined to help you get a job at DuPont with a felony. According to the response we were provided, you need to apply like any other applicant. Seeing that their entry-level positions are limited, it may be difficult for someone with a criminal record to be hired here. But don’t let that stop you — let that motivate you!

Our recommended approach is to make sure you have the skills required for the job you’ve selected. Then dress your resume up using our tips to help you land an interview.

The interview would be the best time to address your criminal history. Be prepared to give solid examples of how you have changed and why they should hire you.

This is the time to use your experiences there to your advantage. During your incarceration, you learned communication and coping skills. Maybe you have skills managing inventory? Highlight those skills for the job you are applying for so they easily see why you’re qualified.
