We’ve been unable to make contact with Deloitte at this time and their website doesn’t make a clear statement about their hiring policy for former offenders.

Has Deloitte hired felons in the past?

We aren’t sure if Deloitte has hired felons in the past. Our sources don’t say either way, though the company certainly understands the tax benefits to hiring previous offenders.

Does Deloitte hire people with misdemeanors?

Again, we just don’t have enough information at this time to answer this question. It’s possible!

Will Deloitte hire you with pending charges??

There is nothing out there on this, either from the company or from past employees. Deloitte may want to wait for your charges to be dismissed.

Is Deloitte on the Ban the Box list?

What is the Ban the Box list? It’s a list of companies that have removed the checkbox asking if you’ve been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony.

The Fair Chance Business Pledge is another initiative to help former felons. This Pledge is taken by employers who promise to look at your skills and talents and not judge you on your past.

Deloitte doesn’t participate in either of these programs. However, we took it upon ourselves to fill out Deloitte’s job application and discovered that there is no question asking if we’ve been convicted of a crime.

Does Deloitte have special programs for hiring felons?

They were working with several government tax credit programs for getting former felons back into the work force, though it’s unclear if they  participate in them or simply advise their clients to.

What are the odds that someone with a felony will get hired?

We give your odds of getting hired at Deloitte as low. There’s just very little information available and nothing confirms nor denies that the company will hire former offenders. What are some entry-level jobs?

Deloitte isn’t very beginner-friendly. While they offer internships, most positions require a bachelor’s degree and a few years of experience. These jobs are white collar, so if you want a job in auditing or risk management, you should check out their careers page.

Tips to get hired here with a felony

If you’re a former felon with an accounting degree and decide to try your hand with Deloitte, you’ll want to show yourself to be the best candidate. You need to stand out in a positive way!

Start with listing your education. Remember that they want someone with a college degree, so make sure it stands out.

The company also wants experience. The more, the better. Tell Deloitte your previous employment history that is accounting-related. Include your skills and talents. Were you responsible for bookkeeping at a previous job? Maybe you did inventory control at the canteen? Did you take a few extra accounting classes they’d be interested in? Talk these up!

Check and double-check your spelling, grammar, and punctuation. You’re a former felon with a college degree . . . you don’t want simple mistakes to cost you!

Tell them about your post-secondary experience and give examples of the important skills you earned alongside your degree. Think of a really great work-related moment that showcases your skills so they can see you in the role.

Finally, build trust by being honest about your past from the beginning. Don’t let them find out about it the hard way.

Yes, they do. It’s clearly stated on their website that they’ll do a background check after the interview process and before an offer of employment is made.

Company ratings

We did some research so that we could bring you Deloitte’s ratings. Glassdoor.com gives them 3.8 stars out of 5. Of the more than 30,000 reviews, 88% approve of the company’s CEO and 79% would recommend working there to a friend. Many raved about the work environment and friendly co-workers, while others weren’t happy with the long hours.

What felonies Deloitte will not hire

What felony convictions might have a hard time getting hired here?

Does Deloitte hire felons? We don’t know for sure, but we do know that there are some felonies that might hurt your chances more than others. Since you’ll be involved in accounting, any theft or identity fraud crimes will make it tough.

Violent crimes because will work against you as well because you’ll be working closely with other employees and clients.

Does Deloitte hire sex offenders?

We’re not sure, actually. While there are more barriers in place typically for people with this kind of background, there’s nothing from the company or employees about this.

Does Deloitte drug test?

We can’t say for sure as we have no firsthand information on this. Our suggestion is to move forward as if they do.
