Included as part of the Ban the Box campaign is the Fair Chance Business Pledge. Companies that have signed this Pledge promise to look past applicants’ criminal record and focus instead on their skills and work history.

An online inquiry shows Capital One doesn’t participate in the Ban the Box campaign and they haven’t signed the Fair Chance Business Pledge. But don’t worry, because we know they’ll hire people with convictions.

Does Capital One have special programs for hiring felons?

Unfortunately, Capital One doesn’t offer special programs for hiring felons. You can visit your local employment agency or government office for information about these programs in your area.

What are the odds someone with a felony will get hired?

The odds of getting hired at Capital One with a felony is average. While they’re not on the Ban the Box list, online research shows they’ve hired people with records in the past.

Plus, if your record is for something minor and not related to financial crimes, you have a good chance of getting hired.

What are some entry-level jobs?

Tips to get hired here with a felony

Now that we know Capital One will hire people with previous convictions, you’re wondering how to get started on the application process, right?

What happens if you land an interview?

• Be punctual. If you can’t be early, at least be on time. Companies aren’t impressed with potential employees who can’t bother to show up for an interview when scheduled.
• Dress professional. A clean appearance is the way to go: Nice clothes, nice hair. If you have tattoos, hide them the best you can. The same with piercings — take them out for now. Company policy on these can be addressed at the end of the interview.
• When speaking, make sure you’re clear with your words. Take care not to mumble or slur. Also, talk in a normal tone. Don’t be so quiet the interviewer can’t hear you, but not so loud employees down the hall think you’re yelling.
• Keep a positive attitude. Highlight your skills, talents and work history. Smile, and don’t focus on the negatives.
• Be honest. There is absolutely no point in hiding anything. Capital One will find out and that could potentially be the end of your career with them. Being honest shows you’re trustworthy and that goes a long way with companies.

Because we’re trying to bring you as much information as possible, we utilized the internet to find out Capital One’s ratings. Glassdoor.com rates them at 3.8 out of 5 stars with over 6,000 reviews. The pros of working with Capital One seem to be their benefits and vacation time, while the biggest con is not being able to find work-life balance.

What felony convictions might have a hard time getting hired here?

Does Capital One hire felons? Yes, according to the research, they do. However, because this is a financial institution, there are some felonies that might make it tougher to get hired at Capital One. For example:
