The Fair Chance Business Pledge is a similar effort — though,  in this case, businesses voluntarily sign up and promise not to discriminate in their hiring policies.

Unfortunately, Verizon is not involved in either one of them.

Doesn’t sound so good, right? While it would be nice if they were participating in these efforts, there are lots of companies who don’t that will still hire former felons.

Does Verizon have special programs for hiring felons?

Not surprisingly, Verizon does not have any.

With the information that we have, we can only say that your chances are uncertain. Statements made by employees online lead us to believe that it’s a possibility, especially if the offense is more than seven years old,. Until we hear from the company directly, it will be hard to have a better idea of how they feel about hiring former felons.

Does Verizon hire felons? It’s very possible that their hiring policies will depend both on what your felony was, and how long ago it happened. Many companies are more lenient about hiring former felons when their record was from many years ago.

What are some entry-level jobs?

Verizon is a big company with lots of different types of employment opportunities. If you have any sort of technical background, you might try for one of their tech support positions, where you can find higher paying entry-level work.

But, there are also plenty of jobs for people with customer service experience. The duties of these employees are to inform customers about phones and service plans, and help them to choose the option that is right for them. Their lowest score was 2.9 for senior management, while their highest score was 4.1 for compensation.
