What are the chances of Prime hiring a felon?

Is Prime on the Ban the Box list?

Are you wondering: Does Prime hire felons because of their involvement with programs like Ban the Box or the Fair Chance Business Pledge? No, actually, they don’t. We’re sorry to say that they haven’t signed on to either initiative. Here’s what we know about these programs and why they’re important:

Ban the Box lists employers who don’t want to know about your criminal history up front. They’ve banned the criminal record checkbox from their job application form so it doesn’t interfere with their initial hiring decision.

Companies that have signed the Fair Chance Business Pledge also want to help you get hired with a criminal record. The Pledge is their way of showing that they’ll treat all applicants fairly — criminal background or not.

Does Prime have special programs for hiring felons?

No. Special programs are not how to get hired at Prime. But, remember, that’s not unusual for most employers.

What are the odds someone with a felony will get hired?

Average likelihood of hiring felons

Our belief is that your odds are higher than average because:

  1. The company’s website says they’ll consider applicants with criminal records.
  2. Staff say they’ve been hired by the company with a felony.
  3. Prime has no special programs for hiring felons.
  4. They haven’t signed the Fair Chance Business Pledge and aren’t on the Ban the Box list.

What are some entry-level jobs?

The main entry-level job at Prime is truck driving. Drivers haul cargo across the United States in various types of transport trucks, including flatbed, tanker and refrigerated vehicles. What felonies Prime will not hire

We don’t have any explicit restrictions from the company, unfortunately. They didn’t tell us. But our research gave us some insight that might help you. See the next section.

What felony convictions might have a hard time getting hired here?

Does Prime hire felons with DUIs? Probably not to drive a truck, but you may be able to get hired on for another position.

Having said that, Prime says their drivers need to have an “acceptable motor vehicle record.” We’re not sure what that means exactly, so be ready to discuss your driving record.

Convictions for offenses like theft and robbery could impact how to get hired at Prime as well. Company drivers are trusted with valuable cargo and the company wants to know it will be delivered intact. Even if you’re working in another job at Prime, the company needs to be sure that you won’t steal anything from them.

Finally, getting along with coworkers is important in any job. That’s where a criminal background involving assault or something similar will be looked at very closely by the hiring manager.

Does Prime hire sex offenders?

Some transportation companies do, but we don’t know about Prime. Our research came up blank and Prime neglected to answer this one.

Does Prime drug test?

Yes. According to online comments from employees, they do.
