Project START+ mission – Is an HIV/STI/hepatitis risk reduction and linkage to care program for people returning to the community after incarceration.
Who they help – Developed as a HIV/hepatitis/STI risk reduction, Project START has been adapted for people with HIV and other health conditions that require post release support. Project START is a reentry model that begins up to 2 months pre-release and continues 3 months post-release. CBOs/NGOs and researchers in 25 US states and 10 countries have been trained in the Project START reentry model.
